Un botta e risposta che denuda meglio di qualsiasi preambolo il carattere rigido e colto nascosto tra le reti dell’ultimo lavoro di Christoph Gallio con l’apporto dell’ensemble Mösiöblö: rispettivamente il sassofonista elvetico, con alto e soprano, la chitarra di Marino Pliakas, i clarinetti di Thomas Eckert e il nobile canto lirico della soprano Sylvia Nopper, felice di (de)cantare le 92 domande - nel senso più autentico del termine - presenti in “Ample Food for Stupid Thought”, testo neo-dadaista scritto nel 1965 da Robert Filliou, artista accostabile per antonomasia al primo movimento fluxus. Viene pensato un letto di note per ogni singola domanda, utilizzando durate minime, essenziali, dove la Nopper ha giusto il tempo di vocalizzare, al meglio delle possibilità armoniche, la domanda di turno. Gallio si adatta alle forme-classiche, ad innesti squadrati e puliti: la classica di Pliakas, che merita una segnalazione particolare, nitida e metronomica come un orologio svizzero, il clarinetto, più delicato, si mescola quasi sempre con il sax, formando entrambi una cornice intermittente e minimalista alle inflessioni canore. È un viaggio che seppur, complessivamente, arrivi a superare a stento i trenta minuti sembra resistere ad oltranza, per l’eternità. Difficilissimo, poi, eseguire un ascolto attento ad ogni cambio di traccia, mentre è preferibile udire questi scorci di contemporanea senza porre paletti-divisori, come un unico calderone in cui sfumature e cambi repentini s’incrociano e formano una suite de-frammentata ed eterogenea. Tra gli ospiti occasionali, merita un’appunto di gloria il solo di tromba esotico-masadiano reso da Peter Schärli inHow Big Should You Harem Be?, l’isolata parentesi elettronica di Why Is He Dying?, con un’implosione di materiali concreti costruita esclusivamente da Ernst Thoma, la greve sfrecciata al trombone in What Makes This The Land Of The Free And The Home Of The Brave? di cui è responsabile Bernhard Bamert.
Se i fans dei Day & Taxi potranno persino assaporare l’amaro sapore della delusione, avendo perso il gusto eccitante dell’incertezza jazz, quelli della border-music accademica, sicuramente, faranno i salti di gioia.
